Accountant for Mining Operations in Angola

About the role

Apt Resources is seeking a skilled Accountant to support the financial operations of a diamond mining client in Angola. You will ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and effective cash management while working closely with operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records in line with local laws and regulations.
• Assist in monthly financial statements, management reports, and budget‑vs‑actual analyses.
• Monitor project and departmental costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing, collections, payments, and reconciliations.
• Oversee cash‑flow management to maintain sufficient liquidity.
• Support payroll processing for timely and compliant employee compensation.
• Conduct financial audits and ensure internal controls meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with operational teams to track financial performance and key metrics.
• Assist with tax compliance, filings, and statutory reporting.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
