Android Engineer

About the role

Thales in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a skilled Android Engineer to join its Dubai team. You will design, develop and maintain high‑quality Android applications that support map‑based functionalities for defence and civil projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Implement and optimise map features such as location tracking, routing, markers and geofencing.
• Apply Clean Architecture principles to ensure scalable, maintainable and testable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and backend teams to define and deliver features.
• Write clean, reusable and well‑documented code, and conduct code reviews.
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks and memory leaks.
• Ensure application performance, quality and responsiveness.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional Android development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
