Associate Drug Control and Crime Prevention Officer (Temporary)

About the role

The Associate Drug Control and Crime Prevention Officer will support the Programme Coordinator (Drug Control and Crime Prevention) and the UNODC Representative for the GCC Region. Based in Abu Dhabi, the officer will contribute to the implementation of UNODC’s drug control and crime prevention programmes across the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Programme Coordinator in planning, monitoring and reporting on drug control and crime prevention projects.
• Collaborate closely with project teams in the Office for the GCC Region and with UNODC headquarters units, including the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies and the Division for Treaty Affairs.
• Support the preparation of thematic initiatives linked to the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
• Provide administrative and analytical support for regional operations and contribute to the development of briefing materials and reports.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in criminology, public policy, international relations, law, or a related field.
• Professional experience in drug control, crime prevention, or related international programmes.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and in close collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams.
