Authority Liaison Manager – Emirati National

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Authority Liaison Manager who is an Emirati national to lead stakeholder engagement and approvals for major property and building projects across the UAE. The role ensures smooth coordination with government entities, developers and other external parties throughout design and construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of stakeholder engineers, coordinating with authorities and third parties.
• Manage end‑to‑end stakeholder and approvals processes for design and construction stages.
• Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities, developers and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Review authority submissions, monitor feedback and secure approvals in line with project schedules.
• Serve as primary contact for external stakeholders, resolving issues promptly.
• Coordinate with internal design and project teams to integrate stakeholder requirements into plans.
• Develop stakeholder management plans, communication strategies and reporting mechanisms.
• Participate in coordination meetings with clients, contractors and authorities to expedite approvals.
• Maintain records of correspondence, permits and approvals and provide regular progress updates to leadership and clients.

Required profile

• UAE national with a valid Family Book.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in stakeholder management, authority liaison or approvals within the UAE construction or consultancy sector.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority processes, design codes and approval workflows.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary stakeholder or authority teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
