Backend Engineer - Python

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Python to design and deliver robust, secure, and scalable server‑side systems that power user‑centric digital products for a leading financial services organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain secure, high‑performance backend applications and RESTful APIs.
• Create and optimise database schemas to ensure fast and reliable data access.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and AI teams to enhance product functionality and performance.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve efficiency.
• Integrate third‑party services while maintaining reliability and security standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional backend development experience with strong Python expertise.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted development tools.
• Clear communicator able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bonus experience in full‑stack development, SRE/DevOps, or AI‑powered products.
