Crime Prevention & Criminal Justice Officer (Temporary)

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a temporary Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer to support its initiatives in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator (Drug Control and Crime Prevention) and the overall guidance of the UNODC Representative for the GCC Region.
• Collaborate closely with project teams in the Office for the GCC Region, the UNODC Secretariat to the Governing Bodies, the Division for Treaty Affairs, and headquarters‑based branches on initiatives related to the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

Required profile

• Background in crime prevention, criminal justice, or related fields within an international or UN context.
• Ability to operate in a multicultural environment and coordinate across multiple UNODC units.

Required skills

• Familiarity with UNODC programmes and policies on drug control and crime prevention.
