Data & Information Management Intern

About the role

The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) office in Abu Dhabi is looking for a motivated intern to support data and information management for its Dugong and Raptors memoranda of understanding. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience in international environmental cooperation, focusing on data handling, analysis, and digital tools.

Key responsibilities

• Compile, organise and maintain datasets related to CMS activities, species and agreements.
• Support the structuring and management of internal information systems and repositories.
• Clean, validate and prepare data for analysis and visualisation.
• Develop basic charts, dashboards and other visual reporting outputs.
• Maintain and update internal knowledge platforms, ensuring proper categorisation and accessibility of documents.
• Assist with ad‑hoc tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme, in the final year of a bachelor programme, or already graduated.
• Preferred fields of study include data science, information management, IT, computer science, business analytics, development studies, international relations, environmental policy, sustainable development or related areas.
• Environmental backgrounds such as biology, ecology or environmental science are also welcome.
