Electrical Technician – Plant Maintenance

About the role

The Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability and availability of all electrical equipment in a large industrial plant. The role involves preventive, corrective and troubleshooting activities on low‑voltage and high‑voltage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Isolate and energise LV and HV motors, UPS, transformers, generators and other circuits following authorised certificates.
• Perform skilled fault finding, diagnosis and troubleshooting on high‑ and low‑voltage equipment.
• Carry out routine, predictive and preventive maintenance checks, including visual inspections.
• Execute new installations, modifications and testing of electrical equipment according to plans and supervisor instructions.
• Identify required spare parts and tools, complete isolation confirmation certificates and maintenance activity sheets.
• Update drawings, records and maintenance management system entries.
• Provide input for method statements, initiate near‑miss reports and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical discipline or Secondary School Certificate with a relevant vocational trade certificate.
• Minimum 4 years of experience maintaining electrical equipment in a large industrial plant, preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• Professional certifications as applicable.
