Integration Engineer

About the role

The Integration Engineer will join the Robotics Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute to develop civil aerial robotics prototypes. The role focuses on merging research outputs into functional drone systems ready for real‑world deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and fine‑tune autopilot software for multiple drone platforms.
• Install, configure, and test diverse payloads such as imaging, LiDAR, SAR, environmental sensors, and custom actuation tools.
• Configure autonomy modules and SDK‑based systems to enable mission execution and automated operations.
• Perform system integration, debugging, and validation in simulation environments and on real hardware.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate concepts into operational prototypes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in flight control, UAV integration, or related fields.
• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Holding a drone pilot license is a strong asset.

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise with PX4, ArduPilot, DJI SDKs (or equivalents).
• Experience using simulation and middleware tools such as Gazebo and ROS2.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for embedded development and toolchain scripting.
• Strong knowledge of UAV systems, payload integration, and communication protocols.
• Advanced software/hardware debugging, simulation environments, and integration workflow skills.
