Production Planning Officer – Aircraft Engine (Engine Shop/MRO)

About the role

The Production Planning Officer will own the end‑to‑end engine production planning cycle for repair and overhaul projects (strip‑inspect‑build‑test). You will translate approved work‑scopes and OEM data into executable work‑packs, manage daily work‑in‑progress, and provide clear visibility to engineering, production, quality, supply chain and test cell teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain engine‑level production plans (daily/weekly) covering module routing, hold points, special processes and test cell scheduling.
• Prepare and customise engine work‑packs/task cards in line with OEM data (CFM, GE, PW, RR) and regulatory documents (AD/SB/EO, Part‑145).
• Identify and preload required tools, GSE, fixtures, torque/special tools and consumables; coordinate material reservations and shortages with Supply Chain.
• Estimate man‑hours per module/task, level capacity versus load, and align bays, cells and resources.
• Track man‑hour burn, publish daily progress reports, run tier/stand‑up meetings and escalate risks with recovery plans.
• Ensure compliance with Part‑145, OEM and airworthiness requirements; support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an Aircraft Maintenance License (Part‑66 or equivalent).
• 5+ years in aviation MRO with at least 3 years in production planning, preferably in an engine shop.
• Proven experience preparing engine work‑packs and scheduling module‑level tasks (Fan, LPC, HPC, HPT, LPT, Accessory Gearbox).
• Hands‑on use of MRO ERP systems such as IFS, AMOS, RAMCO, TRAX or Maintenix.
