Professor of Nuclear Materials

About the role

The University seeks a Professor of Nuclear Materials to advance teaching, research, and service in nuclear materials science and engineering. The role supports the strategic objectives of the Emirates Nuclear Technology Center (ENTC) by developing innovative research programs on material performance, degradation, and reliability in nuclear energy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide undergraduate and graduate instruction in nuclear engineering and materials science, covering topics such as nuclear materials, radiation effects, nuclear fuel materials, and materials degradation.
• Lead high‑impact research aligned with ENTC priorities, develop research infrastructure, and secure external funding.
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Contribute to curriculum development, academic service, and collaboration with national and international research institutions and industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in nuclear engineering or materials science.
• Strong research record in nuclear materials, with publications and projects relevant to ENTC research areas.
• Ability to obtain external research funding and manage research grants.

Required skills

• Expertise in nuclear materials science and engineering.
• Knowledge of radiation effects and materials degradation in nuclear systems.
• Experience with materials characterization and testing techniques.
