Research Engineer Intern

About the role

Join a cutting‑edge start‑up that is redefining biology and medicine with generative AI. As a Research Engineer Intern you will work alongside AI researchers and computational biologists to push the limits of large biological models.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on AI foundation models and computational biology.
• Improve existing models and explore new methodologies for biological AI.
• Design and execute large‑scale experiments on GPU clusters.
• Analyze complex datasets and apply statistical techniques to validate model performance.
• Collaborate with machine‑learning engineers and biologists to develop state‑of‑the‑art biology models.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a full‑time master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or a related field (preferably in the United States).
• Strong coding skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face, Megatron‑LM or DeepSpeed.
• Solid understanding of GPU, CPU and AI‑accelerator architectures.
• Familiarity with LLM/foundation‑model architectures and large‑scale training infrastructure.
• 1+ years of relevant industry experience and a passion for performance improvements.
