Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) – Dubai

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) to lead the design and development of custom vehicles, modifications, and upfitting projects in Dubai. You will manage projects from concept through production, ensuring compliance with UAE/GCC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end automotive design and development for custom builds and vehicle modifications.
• Create concept designs and high‑quality renders for client approval.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for sheet metal, structural components, and full vehicle assemblies.
• Manage the product lifecycle from concept, prototyping, production, to testing.
• Validate design feasibility, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, ECNs, and design revisions.
• Coordinate with production teams, fabrication workshops, and engineering departments to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers on best practices and design standards.

Required profile

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
• 6–10+ years of experience in automotive design, vehicle modification/upfitting, and product development.
• Experience working in the GCC region is preferred.
• Immediate availability to relocate to Dubai.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced proficiency in Geomagic Design.
• Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.
• Expertise in sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
• Expertise in structural component and full‑assembly design.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing feasibility, DFM/DFA principles, and vehicle modification standards.
