Senior Vice President - Head of Quality Assurance

About the role

The Head of Quality Assurance will serve as the enterprise quality authority for RAKBANK, driving a transformation toward a modern, automation‑first, AI‑enabled quality engineering function. This senior leader will embed continuous quality across the full software development lifecycle and ensure every release meets the robustness and compliance standards required in a regulated banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an enterprise QA strategy that prioritises automation and AI‑driven testing.
• Establish a Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence, standardising tools, frameworks and best practices.
• Embed shift‑left quality practices, CI/CD quality gates and squad‑level ownership throughout the SDLC.
• Own test automation across UI, API and data layers, tracking coverage, ROI and continuous improvement.
• Implement AI‑driven testing such as self‑healing automation, intelligent test prioritisation and automated defect triage.
• Lead non‑functional testing including performance, resilience, security and API contract testing.
• Govern test environments, synthetic data creation and data‑masking processes.
• Oversee UAT governance and make release quality sign‑off decisions (go/no‑go).
• Define, track and report QA metrics such as defect leakage, automation coverage and cycle time.
• Build and develop the QA function, including team structure, capability growth and mentorship.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• 5+ years in senior QA leadership (Head/Director level) within banking, fintech or other regulated financial services.
• Proven track record of transforming manual testing environments into automation‑led organisations.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery and CI/CD‑integrated quality practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; ISTQB Advanced Test Manager preferred.

• Automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium.
• CI/CD integration and quality‑gate governance.
• Performance testing tools: JMeter, Gatling, k6.
• Test data management: synthetic data generation, PII masking.
• AI‑driven testing tools and practices.
