Staff Nurse – ICU

About the role

The ICU Staff Nurse provides direct, high‑quality patient care in a critical care environment. Working under the Nurse Manager, the role involves coordinating multidisciplinary care, ensuring safety, and supporting patients and families through complex clinical pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the intensive care unit.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to develop and revise individualized care plans.
• Lead the unit as in‑charge nurse when required, overseeing routine operations and staff assignments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection‑control policies.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including handling narcotic/controlled drugs.
• Participate in staff meetings, unit committees, and continuous quality‑improvement activities.
• Float to other hospital areas as needed and share knowledge with colleagues.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification with current licensure.
• Experience in critical care or intensive care settings.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Commitment to professional development and competency maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
