Store Supervisor - Automotive

About the role

The Store Supervisor – Automotive leads daily operations of the automotive department, ensuring top‑class customer service, efficient stock handling and a safe, compliant store environment. You will be the main point of contact for customers and internal teams, driving sales, resolving issues and fostering continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑standard customer service and technical advice on automotive products and accessories.
• Support sales activities to meet department and store targets, including upselling and product demonstrations.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints and returns promptly and professionally.
• Supervise, coach and schedule store colleagues, providing on‑the‑job training and product knowledge.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive workplace and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Manage stock levels, conduct regular counts, and coordinate replenishment.
• Ensure merchandise is displayed to company standards with correct labeling and signage.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures, cash handling and POS operations.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety, manual‑handling and COSHH requirements.
• Prepare daily/weekly sales and stock reports and support loss‑prevention activities.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and in‑store service partners for fittings, deliveries and warranty issues.
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve customer experience, efficiency and sales performance.

Required profile

• Graduate or relevant vocational qualification in automotive or retail management (advantageous).
• Experience in retail, automotive parts or a customer‑facing environment, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and achieving sales targets.
• Experience of stock control, merchandising and using retail systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Experience using stock management software.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms.
