AI Product Expert for Utilities

About the role

As an AI Product Expert for Utilities at SAP, you will partner with utility customers to uncover high‑impact AI use cases within their SAP landscape and deliver end‑to‑end solutions. You will work closely with product, engineering, and delivery teams to translate business challenges into scalable AI services that run on SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with utilities customers to discover, prioritize, and frame AI use cases on top of S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
• Design and implement complete AI solutions, including data pipelines, model selection/integration, and UI/process integration.
• Run agile cycles from proof‑of‑concept to pilot and production, gather feedback, and drive adoption.
• Create reusable accelerators such as reference architectures, templates, and best‑practice guides.
• Collaborate with global SAP teams, partners, and local stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Strong ability to translate business problems into clear technical designs and production‑ready solutions.
• Comfortable leading discovery workshops, delivering demos, and explaining technical trade‑offs in business terms.
• Forward‑deployed mindset with high ownership, tolerance for ambiguity, and a focus on measurable customer impact.
• Experience working with utility customers or partners is a plus.

Required skills

• Software engineering experience with Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, and at least one SAP domain (e.g., finance, supply chain).
• Solid grounding in AI/ML concepts, data modelling, APIs, and common AI patterns such as forecasting and classification.
