Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician (Dubai)

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join its busy Pediatric Emergency Department. The role involves delivering timely, compassionate emergency care to infants, children and adolescents while providing clinical leadership and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute medical, surgical and trauma conditions in pediatric patients.
• Lead resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and other emergency physicians.
• Contribute to departmental strategy, develop clinical pathways and participate in morbidity‑mortality reviews.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans and follow‑up instructions clearly to families.
• Participate in teaching, research and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization.
• Minimum 8–10 years post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma and acute care.
• Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
