R&D Engineer – Product Development

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic R&D / Product Development Engineer to drive innovation and enhance our busbar trunking product line. You will shape future offerings by designing, developing, and supporting new products that meet market demands and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define product specifications, features, and functionalities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance (IEC 61439, UL 857).
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo, SolidWorks or equivalent, applying GD&T.
• Collaborate with Offering Management, Marketing, Sales, external suppliers, and internal teams.
• Follow the NPDI process, complete documentation, and manage engineering change orders.
• Conduct DFMEA risk assessments and organize drawing libraries for efficient reference.
• Build prototypes, stay current with technological advances, and apply DFM/DFA principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or design technology (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with power distribution applications or data‑center industry is a plus.
• Background in designing mild‑steel sheet welded assemblies and extruded/injection‑molded plastic parts.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D modelling with Creo, SolidWorks or similar.
• 2D drafting (first‑angle and third‑angle projection) and GD&T.
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
• DFMEA, DFM, DFA methodologies.
• Knowledge of IEC 61439 and UL 857 standards.
