Software Engineer II – Backend

About the role

talabat is looking for a mid‑level Backend Software Engineer to join a cross‑functional team of engineers, product managers and data specialists. You will help discover customer needs, design end‑to‑end solutions and deliver value in small, high‑quality increments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and data teams to continuously discover business problems and define outcomes.
• Design, develop, test and release backend services that solve end‑to‑end domain challenges.
• Own the scalability and complexity of your services, driving improvements across the software development lifecycle.
• Support the team’s evolution toward a self‑organized, continuously improving unit.
• Question and simplify existing technical processes, systems and solutions.

Required profile

• Empathetic, strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Humble, curious, growth‑mindset with a passion for continuous feedback.
• Understanding of lean/agile values, XP practices and continuous delivery.
• At least 3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Extreme Programming environment.

Required skills

• .NET, Golang, C# programming languages.
• Test‑Driven Development, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring.
• Automated end‑to‑end testing.
• Distributed systems architecture and micro‑services design.
