Assistant Testing and Evaluation

About the role

The Assistant Testing and Evaluation role supports the testing and evaluation of new, prototype, experimental, modified, and production weapons. You will assist with mechanical work, inspections, and preparation of weapons and equipment, ensuring accurate data collection, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in performing weapons tests and produce reliable data for scientific assessment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Conduct mock‑up checks on products under development to verify ergonomics and functional design.
• Support the Accessories Testing Group in evaluating accessory products and their impact on weapon dynamics.
• Provide technical assistance during prototyping, including cutting, grinding, metal forming, lathe, mill and drilling operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on test units, including cleaning, lubrication and part replacement.
• Maintain and service weapons throughout testing, preparation and breakdown phases.
• Document and quantify performance results, prepare testing protocols and evaluation reports.
• Coordinate with other departments, events, focus groups and business development to ensure smooth evaluation and reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in weapons testing or a technical test‑lab environment.
• Experience interpreting testing protocols and reporting detailed results.
• Understanding of computer‑aided design, metalworking operations and mechanical testing.
• Familiarity with military standards, weapon requirements and test procedures.
