HSSE Officer

About the role

The HSSE Officer will support Dar’s projects by ensuring occupational health, safety, security and environmental standards are met. You will work closely with project teams, contractors and the OSH department to create a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that occupational health and safety risks are properly assessed and managed on site.
• Review contractor HSE plans, method statements, risk assessments and other project‑related HSE documents.
• Investigate and report occupational HSE incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Provide professional HSE advice and support to the Project Management Team and other stakeholders.
• Conduct audits and inspections, identify non‑conformities, recommend corrective actions and maintain records.
• Collect and submit HSE performance data for trend analysis.
• Facilitate two‑way communication between Dar personnel and the OSH department.
• Plan and organise OHS training for staff and attend project meetings to report on health and safety matters.

Required profile

• Diploma degree in engineering (safety, civil or architecture) from a university accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education.
• Minimum 7 years of technical experience on construction sites.
• Relevant safety qualification certificate approved by the municipality.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory HSE requirements applicable to the project.
