Human Resources Manager – Shipbuilding & Ship Repair

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the people strategy for a fast‑growing shipbuilding and ship repair operation in Abu Dhabi. You will shape the workforce, HR systems and compliance framework that support large‑scale maritime projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute recruitment campaigns across international markets, focusing on skilled blue‑collar talent for shipyard, dry‑docking and marine engineering roles.
• Oversee all HR operations including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy development and compliance with UAE labour regulations.
• Develop workforce planning strategies aligned with operational expansion to ensure manpower capability meets project demands.
• Partner with senior leadership, department heads and external recruitment partners to drive effective manpower planning, mobilisation and employee engagement.
• Implement HR systems, reporting structures, succession planning and talent development programmes to improve efficiency and retention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8–10 years of HR experience, with a proven track record in a shipyard, dry‑docking, offshore or shipbuilding environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead recruitment for skilled blue‑collar workforces and manage HR operations in a multicultural setting.
• Strong commercial awareness, operational focus and hands‑on delivery mindset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UAE labour legislation and compliance requirements.
