Pool Technician

About the role

The Pool Technician is responsible for maintaining the quality and safety of the hotel’s swimming pools and related water features, ensuring an exceptional guest experience at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain pool water quality, testing chlorine, pH, alkalinity and other parameters.
• Adjust and administer chemicals to achieve proper water balance.
• Operate, inspect and maintain filtration systems, pumps, dosing equipment, heaters and related machinery.
• Perform routine cleaning of pools, water features and pool decks.
• Backwash filters and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and carry out repairs.
• Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports and water testing records.
• Ensure compliance with local health codes, hotel safety standards and manufacturer recommendations.
• Handle and store chemicals safely, using appropriate PPE.
• Respond promptly to pool‑related emergencies, guest requests and coordinate with other departments.
• Support sustainability initiatives by minimizing water and chemical waste.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification in pool maintenance or water treatment preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in swimming pool maintenance, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Knowledge of pool filtration systems, pumps and chemical dosing equipment.
