Specialist Food Safety & Quality

About the role

Talabat is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Specialist to support the rapid growth of its tMart grocery concept across the Middle East. You will be responsible for ensuring that all food safety, quality and health & safety standards are met throughout operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with local and central departments to achieve business objectives.
• Deliver food safety and quality training, templates and procedures to all employees.
• Conduct food and health‑safety inspections, investigations and data analysis of potential hazards.
• Support serious customer‑complaint escalations and act as the first point of contact for food safety matters.
• Liaise with the legal team, coordinate product withdrawals, recalls and serious incident handling.
• Ensure compliance with local food‑safety authority enforcement actions and monitor regulatory developments.
• Oversee safety of own‑brand and private‑label product assortments, coordinate external laboratory testing and maintain product documentation.
• Execute mystery‑shopper visits, product sampling and regular reporting to stakeholders.
• Run health & safety inspection programmes, audits and corrective‑action follow‑up.
• Deliver H&S training and communicate priorities to staff.

Required profile

• Degree in Food Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing Food Safety, Quality or Health & Safety in a retail or grocery environment.
