Business Partner – Supply Management

About the role

The Business Partner – Supply Management works closely with museum end‑users to ensure that the Supply Management department’s strategy, policies and regulations are consistently applied. The role provides guidance, answers queries and supports the delivery of procurement activities across the museum network.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with museum users to collect data for projects requiring supply‑management input and ensure accurate budgeting and planning.
• Support training on supply‑management processes and assist users with technical specifications and scope of work.
• Embed category strategies, including market analysis, supplier profiling, ICV opportunities, benchmark pricing and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Implement procurement plans, conduct market testing (quotes, tenders, EOIs), evaluate offers and manage contract award and supplier performance.
• Partner with business units to develop sourcing strategies that comply with policies while driving innovation and value for money.
• Coordinate supply‑management projects, mentor purchasers and ensure contracts are established in line with legislation and best practice.
• Monitor external market trends to inform strategy and identify opportunities for the department.
• Support the definition and monitoring of supplier KPIs and collaborate with governance specialists to maintain compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply‑management or procurement within a public or cultural institution.
• Strong understanding of procurement policies, legislation and category strategy development.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Excellent analytical skills for market research, cost analysis and risk assessment.
• Effective communication and coaching skills to educate and influence end‑users.
