Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Construction & Real Estate

About the role

The leading contracting group in the GCC is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will own the full financial function of a multi‑entity Construction Division, driving performance, liquidity, banking strategy and sustainable growth across all projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a financial strategy aligned with business objectives and long‑term planning.
• Lead forecasting, scenario modelling and provide commercial insight for executive decisions.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital and liquidity across multiple live projects, optimizing receivables, payables and subcontractor payments.
• Manage banking relationships, negotiate financing facilities, and ensure covenant compliance.
• Supervise IFRS 15 / Percentage of Completion accounting, WIP review, project costing, claims and margin analysis.
• Lead implementation, optimisation and automation of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, BuildSmart, etc.).
• Strengthen internal controls, financial governance and develop finance and project accounting teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA, ACCA, CMA or CA preferred.
• 10‑15+ years of experience, including 5+ years in senior finance leadership within construction or contracting.
• Proven track record in multi‑project cash‑flow management and banking negotiations.
• Deep understanding of project‑based ERP systems and strong commercial acumen.
