Indirect Tax Manager – VAT Advisory & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead end‑to‑end VAT engagements for our clients in the United Arab Emirates. You will provide strategic VAT guidance, ensure compliance, and represent clients before the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage VAT advisory, compliance, and representation projects from inception to delivery.
• Provide strategic VAT advice on complex transactions and cross‑border matters.
• Review and approve VAT returns, voluntary disclosures, and reconsideration requests.
• Interpret UAE VAT legislation, executive regulations, and FTA publications to deliver actionable insights.
• Conduct VAT impact assessments, risk reviews, and compliance health checks.
• Develop and implement indirect tax strategies aligned with client business goals.
• Prepare technical VAT memoranda, client presentations, and advisory documentation.
• Serve as primary client contact, maintaining long‑term relationships and high‑quality service.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Advisory teams for holistic solutions.
• Represent clients during FTA audits and formal interactions.
• Coach, mentor, and lead junior professionals.
• Support business development through proposals, pitches, and market insights.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of VAT/indirect tax experience, preferably in consulting or a Big 4 firm.
• Strong technical knowledge of UAE VAT laws, regulations, and practices.
• Proven experience managing client engagements and leading project teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to build client relationships and manage stakeholders.
• Experience dealing with the FTA is preferred.
