Legal Counsel – FinTech & African Market Specialist

About the role

Ezra is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its fast‑growing FinTech operations across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Based in Dubai, the successful candidate will provide legal expertise on contracts, regulatory compliance and corporate matters, with a focus on the African market.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate contracts in French and English, including framework agreements, commercial contracts and NDAs.
• Conduct legal research on banking regulations, data protection, consumer laws and related topics, especially for African jurisdictions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of FinTech regulations in Africa and apply this expertise to contracts and operations.
• Advise the executive team and various departments on regulatory and compliance issues, particularly for telecommunication and banking products.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to support business objectives and ensure legal compliance.
• Provide legal support on corporate law matters as needed.

Required profile

• Master of Law (LLM) or equivalent legal degree.
• Minimum 4 years of legal practice experience, with a focus on commercial contract negotiation.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Knowledge of data protection laws (including GDPR), consumer laws and banking regulations.
• Experience or knowledge of telecommunications or FinTech industries is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with African regulations is a significant asset.
