Registered Nurse – Medical & Surgical (PAR)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in medical‑surgical care to join Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to patients and their families across a range of clinical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessments and coordinate referrals according to clinical guidelines.
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans for medical and surgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, including post‑operative care.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognise changes and promptly escalate concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain proper use of clinical equipment and uphold safety and hygiene standards.
• Document care accurately to support continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families, address concerns and facilitate a smooth patient journey.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Valid DOH/DHA/MOH nursing licence or DOH eligibility.
• Minimum two years of operating‑theatre experience, preferably orthopaedics.
• BLS certification (required); ACLS/PALS certification (advantage).

Required skills

• Operating theatre procedures.
• Orthopaedic nursing care.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – preferred.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred.
