Structures Technician – 90‑day Contract in Abu Dhabi

About the role

This is a 90‑day temporary position on Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi, supporting the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP). The Structures Technician will maintain, repair, and refurbish a wide range of structural components, from tension‑fabric shelters to metal ladders and air‑conditioning supports.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair doors, roofing, flooring, foundations, gutters and surface coverings.
• Perform metal and fabric repairs, welding, oxy/acetylene cutting, corrosion control, and concrete form work.
• Remodel, refurbish or demolish existing facilities and apply protective coatings, sealants, epoxies, paints and fencing.
• Carry out interior finish work such as acoustic ceiling tile, sheetrock, drywall, and carpentry repairs.
• Execute masonry tasks (CMU, brick, tile) and concrete form installations.
• Install and repair sheet‑metal components, ductwork, metal patchwork and roll‑up doors.
• Maintain and repair tension‑fabric systems (tent structures).
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of construction experience.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s license, passport and ability to pass contract medical requirements.
• US citizenship required for facility credentials; prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
