3D Printing Model Maker

About the role

The 3D Printing Model Maker will design, prepare, produce and finish three‑dimensional models using a range of additive manufacturing technologies. Working from digital designs and CAD files, you will operate printers, troubleshoot issues and ensure that each model meets the required specifications for accuracy, quality and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Create, prepare and produce 3D models using various 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.).
• Review and interpret digital models, CAD files, technical drawings and design specifications.
• Prepare printing files by checking geometry, dimensions, orientation, supports, wall thickness and infill.
• Operate and monitor 3D printers, selecting appropriate materials, layer heights, temperatures, speeds and support structures.
• Perform test prints, adjust settings to achieve required dimensional accuracy, surface quality and strength.
• Identify and resolve printing issues such as warping, layer separation, under‑extrusion, failed supports or resin defects.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of printers, nozzles, resin systems and calibration equipment.
• Remove finished models safely and carry out post‑processing (cleaning, curing, support removal, sanding, polishing, surface preparation).
• Assemble multi‑part models using tools, adhesives or fasteners and apply finishing techniques like painting or coating when required.
• Conduct quality inspections using measuring tools to verify dimensions, surface finish, structural integrity and overall appearance; maintain accurate production records.

Required profile

• No formal qualifications required.
• Minimum of 1 month experience with 3D printing technologies.
• Ability to follow technical drawings and design specifications.
