Account Manager - Social Media

About the role

Burson is seeking an experienced Account Manager to lead its Social Media team for government sector clients in Abu Dhabi. The role will act as the primary liaison for key government accounts, shaping and executing social media strategies that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as day‑to‑day contact for assigned government clients, building strong relationships in coordination with senior leadership.
• Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies, including channel plans, content calendars and publishing workflows.
• Oversee content production, draft and edit posts, briefs and captions while ensuring compliance with government policies and brand guidelines.
• Monitor platforms, manage community interactions, moderation, social listening and escalation processes.
• Track performance, produce dashboards and insights, and recommend optimizations to improve reach, engagement and sentiment.
• Lead a small dedicated team and manage end‑to‑end social media projects.
• Contribute to new‑business efforts by providing research, case studies, proposals and RFP inputs for public sector opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing social media for government or public sector clients.
• Strong client‑facing skills with ability to build and maintain senior‑level relationships.
• Leadership experience overseeing a small team and delivering projects on time.
• Excellent written communication and editorial skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
