Accountant – Audit & Business Setup Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong audit background to support our Business Setup and corporate services operations in Dubai. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and assisting with internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and journal entries.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.
• Perform bank, customer, supplier and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Handle invoicing, payment processing, receipts and expense recording.
• Monitor receivables and payables, follow up on outstanding payments.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, working papers and responding to queries.
• Review financial transactions for discrepancies and control issues.
• Maintain compliance with accounting procedures, VAT and corporate tax documentation.
• Collaborate with the Business Setup team to record company formation, licensing and government service transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a senior accounting role.
• Prior audit experience is required.
• Experience within the UAE business setup or corporate services environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
