Accountant – Petroleum Transportation

About the role

We are a leading petroleum transportation company based in Ajman, seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The role involves handling daily accounting operations, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting financial reporting and UAE VAT compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process day‑to‑day accounting transactions and maintain accurate books.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, monitor collections and manage accounts receivable.
• Handle supplier invoices, payments and expense claims, and oversee accounts payable.
• Perform bank, customer and supplier reconciliations.
• Maintain records of fleet, vehicle, fuel and transportation‑related expenses.
• Track trip‑wise and customer‑wise revenue and expenses.
• Assist with month‑end closing, financial report preparation and budgeting.
• Support UAE VAT return preparation and related documentation.
• Coordinate with operations and administration to gather financial data.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, petroleum or fleet‑related businesses.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (or equivalent diploma).
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards and VAT practices.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
