Accounts Payable Accountant – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will support vendor management, expense processing and month‑end accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist management and co‑workers with vendor issues, data entry, audit requests and ad‑hoc projects.
• Process internal employee expense reimbursements on time.
• Post monthly recurring journal entries and accruals.
• Prepare and perform preliminary review of monthly operating expenses and analyse fluctuations.
• Generate monthly expense reports.
• Provide accurate information to AP management, vendors, department managers and other associates.
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries about outstanding or disputed invoices.
• Reconcile supplier statements and ensure invoices older than 30 days are received and processed.
• Maintain vendor files and ensure supplier accounts are current.
• Follow up on invoices routed for approval to guarantee timely entry in financial software.
• Research, analyse and reconcile moderately complex accounting discrepancies related to supplier accounts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two years of experience in accounts payable or a comparable accounting role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely.
• Detail‑oriented with the capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with precision in handling information.
• Capability to identify cost‑saving opportunities with vendors, including potential rate negotiations.
