Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

Majid Al Shamsi Enterprises LLC is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai. The role focuses on managing the full accounts payable cycle, supporting construction‑related financial processes, and ensuring accurate cost allocation across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounts payable cycle for local and international suppliers.
• Perform PO‑GRN‑Invoice three‑way matching and process invoices accurately.
• Handle subcontractor payments, retention, advance recovery, and certified payment applications.
• Process import invoices, letters of credit (LC), telegraphic transfers (TT) and related documentation.
• Verify and allocate landed costs such as freight, insurance, customs duty, clearance and transportation.
• Allocate costs to projects, jobs, cost centres and work‑in‑progress (WIP) accounts.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate payment discrepancies.
• Monitor vendor ageing and ensure timely payments according to credit terms.
• Support month‑end closing, GRNI/accruals, audits and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 5‑6 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in construction or project‑based environments.
• Strong knowledge of import procurement, LC processing and landed‑cost accounting.
• Understanding of Incoterms, VAT and customs duty treatment.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems; Odoo is a plus.
