AFC Systems and Reporting Specialist

About the role

The AFC Systems and Reporting Specialist is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring and reporting of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems across Metro, Tram and test laboratories in Al Qusais and the RTA Headquarters. The role works on a rotating shift and requires independent decision‑making in coordination with the AFC Systems Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Publish daily, weekly and monthly AFC performance reports to RTA and Keolis‑MHI management.
• Monitor network health, disk space, server status and AFC equipment functionality for Level 3 and Level 4 servers.
• Perform proactive health checks, system administration tasks and preventive maintenance of PTAs.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, capture traces, reboot systems and coordinate with fault monitoring and maintenance teams.
• Manage backups, file restoration and upload the latest equipment operating data to AFC devices.
• Log faults in Maximo, analyse system logs and follow up on corrective actions.
• Administer operator access control for ticket machines, gates and portable checking devices.
• Investigate customer complaints and provide recommendations.
• Support software deployment, testing and communication of release notices.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently on a rotating shift.
• Strong analytical mindset for fault investigation and system health monitoring.
• Experience in coordinating with multiple internal teams and external stakeholders.
