AFC Technician – Automatic Fare Collection & CCTV

About the role

The AFC Technician provides engineering and maintenance services for the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and CCTV systems of the Dubai Metro, ensuring reliable operation of gates, ticket machines and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the AFC Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance of AFC systems, including automatic gates, ticket vending machines, ticket office machines, central control and station equipment.
• Install, service and reconfigure AFC and CCTV systems in stations, depots and car parks.
• Perform repairs using hand, machine, electrical and electronic tools, following technical drawings, schematics, manuals and work instructions.
• Identify faulty AFC equipment, coordinate hand‑over to the electronics workshop for repair, and maintain accurate records in the CMMS.
• Support the implementation of complex systems or new projects under the guidance of the AFC Team Leader.
• Maintain maintenance tools and equipment in good condition and perform shift or emergency duties as required.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience as an electrical, mechanical, electro‑mechanical or electronics technician maintaining AFC equipment.
• Vocational trade certificate, diploma or degree in a related field.
• Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Valid UAE driving licence with good driving skills (preferred).
