AI Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an AI Software Engineer to own and evolve the production‑grade backend that powers our document‑centric automation platform. The role is fully remote, part of a small, distributed team, and focuses on building reliable, multi‑tenant services rather than on model research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, workers, queues, and event‑driven workflows using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Architect multi‑tenant systems that ensure data isolation and privacy for many customers on a single platform.
• Build reusable agentic workflows that automatically extract, ingest, and act on documents without human re‑prompting.
• Wrap LLM providers into production‑ready features with structured outputs, tool calls, retrieval, guardrails, approval steps, and audit trails.
• Implement observability, tracing, and monitoring to keep AI systems honest and cost‑effective.
• Leverage coding agents for rapid development while applying rigorous engineering judgment before release.
• Own production incidents, diagnose root causes, and deliver lasting fixes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience shipping production software with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven track record building multi‑tenant platforms and solving privacy/data‑isolation challenges.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to operate at scale, handle real users, and resolve production failures.
