Apiculture Field Coordinator

About the role

The Apiculture Field Coordinator will lead and supervise field‑based beekeeping activities across multiple apiary sites. This position ensures healthy bee colonies, maximises honey production, and supports sustainable pollination services for agricultural partners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate seasonal beekeeping operations, including hive inspections, feeding, colony splitting, queen replacement and honey harvesting.
• Monitor colony health, identify pests and diseases (e.g., Varroa mites) and implement treatment and preventive measures.
• Supervise field beekeepers and apiary assistants, providing technical guidance and training.
• Manage transportation and placement of hives for honey production and pollination contracts.
• Maintain accurate records of hive inventory, performance, yields, treatments and field activities.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate procurement of equipment, feed, medications and consumables.
• Liaise with farmers, landowners and stakeholders regarding apiary placement and pollination services.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Agriculture, Apiculture, Animal Science, Environmental Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in commercial beekeeping or apiary operations.
• Strong knowledge of bee biology, colony management, honey production and pollination practices.
• Experience supervising field teams is preferred.
• Valid driving licence (preferred for field travel).
