Approval Officer – Medical Claims

About the role
The Approval Officer will ensure that medical claims are processed accurately, comply with insurer agreements, and are submitted on time. This role supports the billing team by auditing claims, handling rejections, and coordinating with clinical staff.
Key responsibilities
- Review and audit medical claims to verify accuracy and compliance with insurer price lists and provider manuals.
- Handle resubmission of rejected claims, coordinating with doctors to obtain necessary justification and documentation.
- Update billing officers on claim rejections and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Submit claims with correct coding and formatting to insurance companies within stipulated deadlines.
Required profile
- Medical or paramedical graduate from a recognized university.
- Minimum two years of experience in insurance claims management or adjudication.
- Experience with medical coding is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of medical coding standards.
