Assistant Electrical Technician (Steel Industry)

About the role

STAR SERVICES LLC is seeking an Assistant Electrical Technician to support electrical and automation maintenance in a steel plant environment. The role involves assisting senior technicians with routine and emergency tasks, ensuring reliable operation of critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in preventive and corrective electrical maintenance of panels, motors, cables, switches and related equipment.
• Support inspection, alignment and replacement of AC/DC motors, contactors, relays, starters and protection devices.
• Perform electrical maintenance on rolling mill, reheating furnace, cooling beds, conveyors, cranes, pumps, fans, hydraulic power units and workshop machinery.
• Help troubleshoot breakdowns using testing instruments, diagnose faults in motors, MCCs, control circuits, sensors and drives, and report recurring issues.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance, clean equipment, record observations and report defects.
• Follow all electrical safety procedures, use PPE, apply LOTO and permit‑to‑work requirements before work.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical and automation maintenance within the steel industry.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work safely at height and in industrial environments.
