Assistant Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to support the engineering and facilities operations of our flagship hotel in Dubai. The role blends hands‑on technical work with coordination of maintenance activities to ensure safety, reliability and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on hotel tools, appliances and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges and meters; identify and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock parts and supplies; maintain inventory and purchase‑order logs.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines; record work‑related information using computer systems.
• Operate power lifts and conduct life‑safety checks, including fire‑pump and generator run tests.
• Inspect fire‑sprinkler valves and alarm systems; assist in developing disaster‑response protocols.
• Respond to guest repair requests and support the engineering team in daily operations.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering or facilities maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Ability to follow safety and security policies and complete required safety training.

Required skills

• Preventative maintenance techniques.
• Calibration of controls, gauges and meters.
• Inventory management and purchase‑order tracking.
• Life‑safety testing (fire‑pump and generator).
• Fire‑sprinkler valve and alarm system inspection.
