Assistant Finance Manager – Finance & Accounting Lead

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager in overseeing the full spectrum of finance and accounting activities for a multinational BPO operation. This role combines leadership of a small accounting team with hands‑on responsibility for multi‑currency financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of four senior and junior accountants, allocating workload and monitoring deadlines.
• Review and approve day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate multi‑currency transaction recording and intercompany reconciliations.
• Oversee monthly closing, financial statement preparation, management reporting and accounting schedules.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT regulations and internal financial policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements across accounting functions.
• Liaise with internal departments, external auditors, banks and other stakeholders as required.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification – mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
• Proven experience leading or supervising an accounting team.
• Background in a multinational or global MNC environment is preferred.
• Experience in BPO/shared services environments is a strong plus.
