Assistant General Counsel – Finance & Commercial

About the role

We are supporting a leading Dubai‑based aviation organisation in appointing an Assistant General Counsel – Finance & Commercial. The role sits within the legal team of an international airline undergoing rapid fleet expansion. You will be responsible for structuring and executing high‑value aircraft financing, leasing and commercial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead aircraft financing, refinancing, leasing, and acquisition transactions
• Draft and negotiate complex financing and commercial agreements
• Advise on legal, regulatory, and commercial risks
• Support maintenance, fuel, technology, and operational contracts
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business
• Drive matters independently from inception to completion

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer, preferably common‑law qualified
• Strong experience in aviation finance, aircraft leasing, or asset finance
• Proven drafting and negotiation capability
• Commercially minded with strong stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of complex transactions
