Assistant Logistics Coordinator

About the role

The Assistant Logistics Coordinator supports day‑to‑day transport operations for FMCG products, ensuring timely, accurate and cost‑effective deliveries to customers, distributors and retailers in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for 3PL vendors and internal departments regarding shipment planning, deliveries and rejections.
• Plan and allocate transport resources (own fleet and 3PL) to meet daily delivery requirements.
• Create optimized shipment plans, post shipments in the ERP system and maximize full‑truck loads.
• Manage reverse logistics, backloads and circuit trips while respecting driver working‑hour limits.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions, PODs, trip sheets and permits.
• Monitor vehicle compliance, safety standards and traffic fines, reporting any issues to HR and Finance.
• Support budget tracking for transportation expenses, overtime, tolls and off‑loading charges.
• Ensure carriers meet service level agreements and submit invoices for timely payment.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics or transportation coordination within an FMCG environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with local regulatory and safety requirements for fleet operations.
• Ability to work six days a week, including overtime as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using an ERP system for shipment planning and documentation.
