Assistant Manager – Automation (Facilities)

About the role

Atlantis, The Palm is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Automation to lead the reliability and performance of automation systems that support water rides, attractions and Animal Life Support Systems (ALSS). The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement of PLC‑based control infrastructure within a world‑class resort.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safe, reliable and efficient operation of automation and control systems for water rides, attractions and ALSS.
• Troubleshoot and rectify faults in PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, electrical control panels, safety circuits and industrial communication networks.
• Develop, modify, test and maintain PLC/HMI software and associated documentation.
• Provide commissioning, Site Acceptance Test (SAT) support, functional testing and post‑commissioning troubleshooting.
• Analyse drawings, schematics, I/O lists and network architectures to resolve system issues.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and maintain accurate technical records.
• Develop and improve preventive‑maintenance strategies, inspection checklists and reliability programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10–12 years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation, control systems and electrical troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with PLC systems, VFDs, HMIs and industrial communication networks in a facilities or attractions environment.
• Strong background in commissioning, SAT support and preventive‑maintenance planning.
• Ability to produce and manage technical documentation and coordinate with OEMs.
