Assistant Manager – Corporate & International M&A Tax

About the role

Join Grant Thornton UAE’s Direct Tax service line as an Assistant Manager, supporting corporate and international M&A tax engagements. You will work with a diverse client base, helping them navigate complex tax landscapes while delivering high‑quality advisory and compliance services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate team members to ensure high‑quality performance on tax projects.
• Apply complex tax concepts to client matters, including corporate tax, transfer pricing and international tax.
• Participate in bids and proposals for prospective clients.
• Consult with Partners and senior management on technical and risk‑related issues.
• Prepare and review complex business tax returns with international elements, identifying tax‑saving opportunities.
• Research and analyse domestic and international tax issues and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Act as a primary contact for stakeholders, monitoring legislative changes and business developments.
• Oversee corporation tax deliverables within broader projects and coordinate with other tax teams.
• Manage tax due‑diligence assignments for buy‑side and sell‑side transactions.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of the OECD BEPS Inclusive Framework, including Pillars 1 and 2.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and develop junior team members.
• Solid understanding of corporate, transfer pricing and international tax principles.
• Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns with cross‑border elements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly.
• Willingness to engage with clients, partners and tax authorities.
