Assistant Manager – Education (Lost Chambers Aquarium)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Education will lead the Lost Chambers Aquarium Marine Educator team, delivering engaging conservation education programmes to guests. Reporting to the Manager, Conservation, this role ensures high‑quality, accurate marine‑life information is shared in a fun and educational manner.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Marine Educator team to maintain the highest standards of educational delivery.
• Engage with guests and colleagues, sharing information on marine life and conservation while ensuring team compliance.
• Deliver and delegate educational programmes and marine‑animal activities for groups of varying sizes.
• Monitor school and other educational bookings, brief the team and allocate resources to optimise guest experience.
• Coach and develop staff on marine‑life knowledge, conservation messaging and interpretation methods.
• Provide constructive feedback through regular training and assessments.
• Liaise with Admissions and Dive teams to keep educators updated on programmes and tours.
• Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, ordering supplies, event planning and report generation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing a team within an educational or marine‑conservation setting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to train, develop and provide feedback to staff.
• Organisational skills to coordinate bookings, resources and administrative tasks.
• Collaborative mindset to work closely with admissions, dive and conservation teams.
